In 1987 Course of Dentistry was established at the Faculty of Advanced Professional Training, including Preventive Dentistry and Orthopedic Dentistry, and since 1989 Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery.
In 1990 the Course was reorganized into the Dentistry Department (Postgraduate Course) headed by Prof. Assoc. Nikolai Ph. CHEREMNOV, MD, PhD, till 1997.
In different periods the Department was led by:
1998-2000 – Prof. Valentina G. BOKAYA, MD, PhD
2001-2009 – Prof. Assoc. Tamara V. SUNTSOVA, MD, PhD
2009-2012 – Prof. Boris N. ZYRYANOV, MD, PhD, a full member of the Academy of Polar Medicine and Extreme Human Ecology, Honorary Member of the International Society on Immunorehabilitation. The period was marked by studying the peculiarities of dentistry in the conditions of Extreme North.
Since November, 2012 – Prof. Assoc. Elmira Sh. GRIGOROVICH, MD, PhD, who is engaged in studying conservative and surgical treatment of patients with chronic generalized periodontitis, mucogingival surgery, implantology, and treatment of the oral mucosal diseases.
