Brief History

The Department was established in 1984 headed by Prof. Viktor M. YAKOVLEV, MD, PhD.
 
Prof. YAKOVLEV together with the staff of the Department studied issues of coronary and non-coronary heart diseases, including etiology, pathogenesis, treatment, and prevention of electromechanical dissociation in acute coronary syndrome and coronary artery diseases; endothelial dysfunction, arterial hypertension, atherosclerosis, coronary artery diseases; electrocardiography in heart pathology. Prof. YAKOVLEV was a pioneer in studying the reasons of sudden death, as well as the issues of the pathology of the heart and internal organs in patients with connective tissue dysplasia.
 
In 1998, Prof. Galina I. NECHAEVA became the Head of the Department. Under her supervision, the staff actively studied issues of cardiovascular pathology and connective tissue dysplasia.
 
Nowadays, the Department is led by Assoc. Prof. Inna V. DRUK, MD, PhD. The staff of the Department is actively providing the consultations patients and doctors in Omsk Hospitals and OSMU Clinic.
