The Department was established in 1922 headed by Nikolai V. VERSHININ, a founder of the Siberian School of Pharmacologists. Later in 1929, Alexey D. TIMOFEEVSKY, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine) became the head of the Department.
In 1957-1974, the Department was led by Prof. Vikentiy P. GOVOROV, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), who equipped the Department with modern facilities and medical appliances and actively initiated the research on the pharmacodynamics of cardioactive drugs and their combinations with other groups of medicaments. From 1974 to 1988, the Department was headed by Prof. Govorov’s student, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Prof. Vladimir M. REVENKO, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine).
In 1988-1990, the Department was headed by Assoc. Prof. Georgy P. CHERNYSHEV, fluent in two foreign languages he successfully represented our country working as a scientific advisor at the Pharmacology Departments of Universities in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), Santiago de Cuba (Republic of Cuba), and Ulan Bator (Mongolia).
From 1990 to 2005, the Department of Pharmacology was headed by Prof. Yuri V. REDKIN, MD, Dr Sci (in Medicine), the organizer and first head of the immunology laboratory of the Central Scientific Research Laboratory.
In 2005-2019, the Department was led by Assoc. Prof. Sergey V. SKALSKII, MD, PhD (in Medicine), who in his practical and scientific work dealt with issues of pharmaceutical science in the Siberian Region.
